North Wasco County Schools have several important events and announcements coming up for our incoming kinders.

The Dalles, Ore., April 22, 2024 – You get a lot of comments when you’re parked along the side of a small town road, waiting for the distance team. Most folks offer to help, assuming that I’ve broken down and my hazards don’t work, or complaining about the younger runners who crossed over the white line. My favorite, though, are comments like the older gentleman up Chenowith Loop road the other day: “man, it’s good to see kids out running.”

Three robotics teams from The Dalles are gearing up to represent the Columbia Gorge area at the VEX Robotics World Championship in Dallas, Texas this May, after successfully achieving their fundraising goal of more than $12,000 thanks to donations from the community and support from Google.

The Dalles, Ore., April 23, 2024 — Henry Begay of The Dalles High School was signed to Blue Mountain Community College today, April 23 surrounded by his family, friends, coaches and teammates.
