Get Involved! Schools rely on volunteer help for classroom assistance and school and district projects. All volunteers must complete a background check process.
Our schools are always in need of volunteers to help with the following:

School Based Committees & Groups
School Site Council (SSC)
The primary purpose of the School Site Council is to work in collaboration with North Wasco County School District and school staff toward the improvement of student performance and the educational goals set by the district’s strategic plan.
The SSC will meet approximately 4 - 6 times during the school year and meetings will last approximately 60 - 90 minutes. Members of the SSC will serve a term of two or three years and may be re-elected to serve again.

Parent PTO Groups
Are you passionate about making a difference in your child's school experience? Do you want to play an active role in shaping the future of our young learners? Join your school’s Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) and become a superhero for our students!
Whether you can spare a few hours a month or want to dive into a more involved role, we welcome parents of all backgrounds and abilities. Together, we can create unforgettable memories and empower our children to thrive! Please contact your students' school to be connected with their PTO group.

District Committees
Budget Committee
It is the function of the budget committee to approve budget estimates for an educational plan previously determined by the Board. The budget committee will determine levels of spending, but will not determine programs. The Budget Committee recommends revisions to the budget if needed and approves a budget for School Board adoption.

Facilities Advisory Workgroup
The Facilities Advisory Workgroup is tasked with undertaking the review of facility condition reports, prioritizing repairs and renovations, advising on financial strategies within resource constraints, and collaborating closely with district personnel to articulate our objectives and requirements to the wider community. If you possess expertise in facilities management, finance, or strategic planning and are committed to fostering positive change within our community, we invite you to apply by submitting your resume and a statement of interest.

Bond Planning Committee
As a member of the Bond Planning Committee, you'll play a vital role in shaping the future of our educational infrastructure by assisting in the planning and implementation of crucial bond initiatives. Your input will directly impact the enhancement and expansion of facilities, technology integration, and overall educational resources for our students. We're seeking dedicated individuals with a passion for education and community advancement to collaborate with district leaders, architects, and stakeholders in developing comprehensive plans that ensure our schools remain at the forefront of excellence. Equity Committee
A school equity committee is a dedicated group of educators, administrators, parents, and community members committed to fostering fairness, inclusivity, and diversity within the school environment. This committee works collaboratively to identify and address systemic barriers to equity, advocate for marginalized students and families, inform policies and initiatives promoting equal opportunities for all learners, and provide ongoing education and training on issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion
