Office of the Superintendent
Welcome and Thank You for visiting
the Superintendent's Page!
I come from a family of educators. Yet, as a child, I always thought I would be a fashion designer or buyer and travel the world chasing the latest fashions and bringing them to the forefront for the world to see and buy. As is common with children, dreams and plans change. By chance, while studying and living abroad in Spain in my twenties, I had the good fortune to get a job as an English teacher and work with children anywhere from Pre-K to College age. It was there that my heart found its passion. Making a difference in the lives of children and people, no matter the age, I found my true calling.
I have worn many hats since beginning my career in education. I have been a teacher, an Assistant Principal, Dual Immersion Coordinator, a Principal, Human Resources Director and Assistant Superintendent for School and Systems Improvement for the Rio School District. Having served in each of these different positions has allowed me to develop and relate to varying perspectives and more importantly, communicating and collaborating with a diverse group of individuals over the course of my career.
Drawing upon individual differences, strengths and wisdom, collectively, I seek to make decisions on a daily basis that always start with the driving question: What is in the best interest of students?
