North Wasco County School District Partners with The Next Door to Support Students and Families with New Youth Outreach Workers

November 6, 2024 — The Dalles, OR - North Wasco County School District is strengthening its student support services through a new partnership with The Next Door. It’s no secret, school systems across the nation are still grappling with the post-covid world and the continued ramifications on our youth. Schools are being consistently asked to step into new roles, and adapt to more and more challenges. Two major issues rising to the top, student mental health and chronic absenteeism.

North Wasco County School District Conducts Comprehensive Community Engagement Assessment

The Dalles, OR – In a continued effort to improve student success and well-being, North Wasco County School District (NWCSD) is undertaking a strategic initiative to assess and strengthen community and family engagement practices across its schools. The district has contracted with Public Consulting Group for a comprehensive assessment aimed at improving communication, parental involvement, and engagement with diverse community groups.

Second Annual Hawks House of Horrors is happening October 25th-27th.

OFF AND AWAY ALL DAY Pilot Program: New Cell Phone Policy at TDMS

As we gear up for the new school year, we want to inform you of an important change in our school's cell phone policy, part of a new district-approved pilot program that we are calling, "OFF AND AWAY ALL DAY." This means that while students are in the building, their cell phones must be off or silenced and stored in their lockers from 7:30 AM to 2:50 PM.
